Community Mental Health Coordinator
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Mental Health Coordinator is a supportive role to the mental health clinicians, psychiatrist, and physiotherapists working in rural First Nations communities.
Meets regularly with Clinicians and Psychiatry
Conducts necessary administrative and supportive duties is required by community mental health team, such as photocopying, advertising for events, coordinating food/drink/refreshments, and booking space for events/meetings.
Liase with locals in community and offer mental health resources such as connections to counselling, psychiatry and mental health workshops
Assist and Transport Elders to community MH groups and events
Assist with appointment booking and client care management duties as assigned
Distribute community MH news updates and resources
Design, create and distribute any posters informing the community of workshops, MH events, or group MH services
Offer additional assistance and support where needed for community Family Support Worker and local SU Worker.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Clerical and administrative certificate or equivalent skills and experiences
Communication Skills and Cultural Competency required
An interest and knowledge in Mental Health and Substance Use
Ability to use Power Point, EXCEL and MS WORD
