The City will be recruiting up to 4 students to participate in this year's program. (Numbers are dependent on grant funding approval) The City of Quesnel is an equal opportunity employer. Nature of Position This Summer Student Parks Labourer program will provide youth in our community with the opportunity to build meaningful work experience, increase their skills, gain workplace insight and help prepare them for the future. The students will focus on labouring duties in Public Works that will provide added support to the regular employees and supports the beautification of the City. This position, which reports to the Supervisor of Parks &amp Solid Waste (or designate) is based out of the Public Works yard. Duties and Responsibilities: Grass Cutting Weed eating/Raking Sweeping Litter Pick-Up Required Qualifications Qualified candidates must be: Eligible to work in Canada Between the ages of 17 and 24 Currently attending secondary or post-secondary education and registered to return to academics in the fall of 2021. Minimum Class 7 BC Driver's License Good physical condition with the ability to perform heavy manual outdoor work in all weather conditions is required Must be able to communicate effectively in English with other employees, supervisors and the general public Hours of Work The successful candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (1106056h)
