CARIBOO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY Chiwid Transition House OUTREACH SUPPORT WORKER Advocacy and Support: Accompany women to appointments or court when necessary. Work as an advocate for women when needed. Provide ongoing support on an outreach basis to women when requested. Role Model appropriate behavior Provide Transportation to in-house and outreach clients as needed. Administrative Tasks: Maintain client files on a monthly basis. Responsible for admissions, discharges. Participate in case conferences with staff. Maintain daily records and statistical forms. Public Relations: Maintain good public relations with other community agencies and organizations. To be familiar with program developments of various agencies. Facilitate Workshops on family violence as requested. Participate in community agency meetings dealing with family violence or other related issues. Presentations to the general public on services provided by Chiwid. Qualifications: Human Service Worker and/or Transition House Worker Training Certificates, Crisis and Counselling Training and/or experience in a related field. A valid drivers license and a vehicle is required. Must maintain professional conduct and abide by the Cariboo Friendship Society's Code of Ethics. Must be willing to submit to a criminal records check. This position requires a warm, friendly individual who can respond to women in crisis.
