CARIBOO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY Chiwid Transition House Workers Position: RELIEF SUPPORT WORKERS WHO WE ARE: The Society contracts services that includes Prenatal, Early intervention, domestic abuse, shelter services, mental health, early development, elders programming, social housing, Hearth Restaurant, Native Arts and craft shop, contracting and longhouse rentals. WHAT WE OFFER: Awareness of need for work life flexibility Excellent training opportunities Value culture Dental and Vision plan after 3 months, Company RRSP's contribution plan Paid vacation; sick days; Cultural Days; staff development WHAT YOU'LL DO: Solid working knowledge of the issues of violence against women Demonstrate an understanding and experience supporting clients affected by mental health, substance-use, poverty, and discrimination based on ethnicity, class, sexual orientation and other intersections of marginalization Experience with critical incident de-escalation, response and debriefing an asset A trauma informed and response based practice approach Accurately record day to day happenings using the appropriate methods; intake forms, maintain communication logs and complete all forms required. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Willingness to learn and be a part of a team Post-secondary education, experience working with relevant population, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
